Yin meaning “shady side of the mountain” is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for extended periods of time. Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues and major joint areas—neck, back, hips, knees, and ankles—aiming to improve organ health, immunity, and emotional wellbeing.
Sound Healing is one of the oldest healing modalities known to man and is now being reintroduced to modern medicine. Doctors have been using sound to break up gall and kidney stones for several years and now are realizing the benefit of sound healing for our organs and other health issues. Similar to how ultrasound identifies solid matter, so do sound vibrations identify blocks or dissonance in our physical body. Guided by years of training, our practitioner skillfully uses sound to correct energy blocks, bringing the body back into its natural frequency, which is one of health and well being.
Even cultures without written languages have passed down the tradition of massage and techniques. Hippocrates promoted the concept that the body is capable of curing itself. Hippocrates original holistic methods included exercise, massage, fresh air, diet and cleanliness. Massage requires manual pressure on the clients tissues, applied with the therapist's touch, to maintain or improve health. Here at A Therapeutic Alternative we provide that experience to you at no charge.
Reconnective Healing is a relatively new “no touch” form of energy Healing. These healings can be instant, but usually they begin as a gradual shift. The greatest challenge is the ability of the recipient to receive the Healing. The Universe will provide Healing, whether it be emotional, physical, or a spiritual nature. The key is to be open and aware to whatever healing is provided. The Universe always provides us with what we need to grow and evolve into the higher beings that we are . Allow yourself the gift of Reconnection. Allow yourself to experience your life in alignment with the Force and Flow of the Universe.

Reiki (霊気?, /ˈreɪkiː/) is a spiritual practice developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, which has since been adapted by various teachers of varying traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or “hands on” healing as a form of alternative medicine and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine. Through the use of this technique, practitioners are transferring universal energy (i.e., reiki) in the form of qi (Japanese: ki) through the palms, which allows for self-healing.
